Florence and The Machine Philadelphia Concert reviews
Cage the Elephant was phenomenal!
Naked and Famous - A delightful surprise. Great female vocalist. Engaged the crowd. Catchy and rocking songs.
Airborne Toxic Event - Stunning. The cover of Clash's "I Fought the Law" was a gem. Always a great live band and they nailed it!
Cage the Elephant - What can I say? One of the best live bands I have seen in the 25 years I have been going to shows. Fantastic stage presence. I couldn't help make a comparison to Kurt Cobain with their lead singer. Great crowd interaction and such a passionate performance.
High Flying Birds - The high points were defintely the Oasis songs. I love Oasis but High Flying Birds to me is too similar in sound but just not as exciting as Oasis.
Death Cab for Cutie - A great band to listen to but not my favorite live band. They seemed to be lacking a energy and passion. Excellent musicians and a great talent just not really a live band.
Florence and the Machine - Her voice is mesmerizing. Great musicians and live performance. I felt bad many folks were leaving during her set. Maybe her style was just really aligned to the mix of other bands at the show. Oh well it worked for us since we were able to stand only about 20 feet from the stage without the crush of folks.
All in all a great show. The venue was fine. A lot of complaints about this venue but parking nearby was no problem and the beers though expensive were actually 24 ounces. Plus they had Sam Adams, Shock Top and other pretty tasty options.
